Draft for legal review — version 2026-09-07-draft. Not yet final.

CONTENDR Terms of Service

CONTENDR is a platform for skill-based video game contests between players. By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use CONTENDR.

1. Who can play

2. Contests are decided by skill

Every contest on CONTENDR is a head-to-head competition decided by the players' skill in the game they chose. Entry amounts, the hosting fee and the prize are shown before you enter. Chance plays no part in who wins.

3. Credits

4. Entering, playing and reporting

5. Verification, review and trust

When both sides report the same result, that result stands and the photos are deleted without being looked at. When they do not, both sides' final-screen photos are checked and read; when they clearly show the same winner, that result stands. Otherwise the CONTENDR team reviews the photos and reports. Either way the decision is final. When one side reports and the other does not by the deadline, the report on file stands, after a check of the photo behind it. Every photo that is reviewed is checked for AI-generated, edited or re-used images.

A player who quits or disconnects during a contest forfeits it unless both sides agree to replay; a brief disconnect the game itself reconnects does not count. Every result records how it was won — played to the end, by forfeit, by the other side leaving, or by no-show — and a side that quit, lost connection or forfeited loses a little trust for it. The side that loses a review pays a penalty (a fixed multiple of the hosting fee, shown before you dispute) to the side that won it, on top of the entry.

Every account carries a trust score that other players can see. A result you report that the review does not uphold, a dispute you raise that is not upheld, a photo you fail to provide when asked, and no-shows all lower it; an account whose score falls below the threshold cannot host or join contests until the CONTENDR team reviews it. Submitting fabricated evidence — an AI-generated, edited, or someone else's screen — ends the account permanently, and any credits in open contests are handled under the review's decision. Repeated false reports also end the account.

6. Fees

A flat hosting fee per player, shown as a credit amount before you enter, is collected when a contest settles. It is returned when a contest is cancelled or voided.

7. What you may not do

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, void affected contests, and withhold prizes from contests we determine were not fairly played. Credits that are not subject to an open contest or review remain withdrawable.

8. Availability and changes

CONTENDR is provided as is. Games, platforms and features may change or be withdrawn. We may change these terms; when we do, you will be asked to accept the new version before your next contest.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CONTENDR is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for the conduct of other players, for the games and networks we do not operate, or for losses caused by your own wallet, keys or transactions. Our total liability to you is limited to the credits in your account.

10. Contact and disputes

Questions and complaints go to support at the address shown in the app. Where the law allows, disputes under these terms are resolved in the courts of the State of Missouri, United States.

Privacy Policy

What we collect

How we use it

Who sees it

Opponents see your gamertag, the in-game names relevant to the contest, and your contest record. Captures are private and are seen only by the CONTENDR team when a contest is reviewed. Captures are checked by our verification providers as part of that process. We use service providers for hosting, email, storage and blockchain access, and share data with them only to provide the service. We do not sell personal data.

Keeping and deleting it

Photos from a contest that settles without a review are deleted the moment it settles; only their hashes are kept, to catch re-used images. Photos that decided a contest — read as a disagreement's evidence or reviewed by the CONTENDR team — are kept as the record of the decision for as long as needed to meet our obligations. You can ask us to delete your account; we keep what the law requires us to keep, such as transaction records.
